Achim Ellguth Appointed New Head of Asset Management at DIR Deutsche Investment Retail GmbH

Nuremberg

Deutsche Investment just filled a new senior management position: Achim Ellguth became Head of Asset Management at DIR Deutsche Investment Retail GmbH on 1 October 2021.

the position of Head of Asset Management, Achim Ellguth assumes responsibility for all asset management activities in the growing retail real estate portfolio. His first job will be to assemble his team as part of the ongoing effort to build up the company’s business. Achim Ellguth brings around 14 years of industry experience to the job. Having long worked as asset and portfolio manager, most recently as Head of Group Portfolio Management at Centerscape Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG, Ellguth has extensive know-how specifically in the area of grocery retailing and will use it to help set the agenda for the growth trajectory of DIR Deutsche Investment Retail GmbH.

DIR Deutsche Investment Retail GmbH is part of the Deutsche Investment Group and was formed in 2019 specifically to cover the grocery retail segment. Launched in April 2020, the “Deutsche Investment – Food Retail I” fund was the first product put on the market by this investment and asset manager, who specialises in retail warehouses and retail warehouse parks with a grocery retail focus. Since its launch, an investment total of EUR 103 million was successfully added to the portfolio, with roughly another EUR 90 million worth of assets currently in the acquisition phase. Fundraising for the targeted shareholders’ equity is already concluded, well before the planned end of the investment period. “The asset management’s job starts as soon as the first assets are transferred into our food retail fund. Seen as a whole, the recently acquired properties form a diversified portfolio with focus on food markets in structurally stable regions anywhere in Germany.

This makes it all the more fortunate for us to have been able to recruit Achim Ellguth, a specialist well-networked nationwide, for the new position of Head of Asset Management. As he joins ranks with Matthias Kreil MRICS, Head of Transaction Management, and Pia Gramlich, Head of Property Management, our senior executive level now boasts an extensive track record, long-term experience and in-depth market understanding of this particular asset class,” said Susanne Klaussner, Managing Partner of DIR Deutsche Investment Retail GmbH.
