Deutsche Investment Expands Second Executive Level

Hamburg, 26 November 2020 – In line with its growth trajectory, Deutsche Investment continues to build up its team, lately filling three new executive positions: At the Berlin office, Christian Gau will take charge of Asset Management while Robert Rosenzweig will head Transaction Management. Meanwhile, Andreas Rakel will reinforce the Hamburg office as Head of Equity Investment Management.

In his role as Head of Asset Management, Christian Gau (54) will control all asset management activities for the use types residential and office, including budget preparation, lettings, portfolio development and internal reporting. During a career of more than 20 years in the real estate industry, he has served in asset management and property management roles for various investment entities and real estate managers. Most recently, Christian Gau worked as asset manager and later regional head of the Rhine-Main area for Lianeo Real Estate GmbH (formerly Intown Property Management GmbH).

Robert Rosenzweig (47) will be heading the Transaction Management for the use types residential and office, and will draw on a network he built up over many years in the real estate industry. His objective is to push forward with deal sourcing and to boost the transaction performance of Deutsche Investment nationwide. A special focus will be on the identification of off-market investment opportunities. In his most recent position, Robert Rosenzweig served as Head of Residential in the Berlin office of Colliers International Deutschland GmbH. Before that, he worked for two renowned family offices with commitments across Germany, and was responsible for the acquisition of managed residential and commercial real estate.

Andreas Rakel (49) will reinforce the Portfolio Management unit as Head of Equity Investment Management at the Hamburg office, and in this position will be responsible for the onboarding and administration of property companies held in separate asset pools under the company’s management. Andreas Rakel has been active in the investment sector for more than 20 years, and during this time has managed both open-ended and closed-end investment funds. Prior to his transfer to Deutsche Investment, he spent seven years working in a senior position in the equity investment management of PATRIZIA Immobilien Kapitalverwaltungsgesellschaft mbH.

Within the framework of our growth strategy for the asset classes residential, office and local amenities (food retailing), we are developing need-driven investment structures for our institutional investors while successively expanding our network of branches.
