Deutsche Investment Retail Reinforces Team and Keeps Expanding Its Competence in the Retail Trade

Nuremberg, 01 April 2020 – DIR Deutsche Investment Retail GmbH (DIR) continues to build up its team of experts: Transaction manager Jens-Oliver Hühnel and analyst Henning Jürgens will strengthen the retail and analytic competence of the company, a German investment and asset manager for retail real estate. These are the new positions to be filled in the months ahead:

In his role as head of transaction management, Jens-Oliver Hühnel (52) will build up and expand the company’s retail property portfolio nationwide, focusing on food-anchored local convenience centres and retail warehouse parks, full-line grocery stores and discount supermarkets. He has been active in the real estate industry for the past 25 years, and during this time gained a wealth of experience in the areas of property development, transactions management, investment fund management and property management. Prior to his transfer to DIR, he served in a senior role with Ratisbona Holding, being responsible for designing, developing and marketing retail real estate. His previous career stations include aurelis Real Estate GmbH & Co. KG and Nürnberger Lebensversicherung AG, an insurance company.
At the same time, Henning Jürgens (56) will reinforce DIR’s asset management headed by Matthias Kreil. As analyst, he will help to develop the performance of property assets in line with the real estate strategy, and compile asset and portfolio analyses and business plans. A certified business economist, Henning Jürgens has been in management accounting for about 30 years, and has worked in the real estate industry for the past two decades. He joined EB IMMOBILIENMANAGEMENT GmbH as corporate and portfolio controller in 2013 before transferring within the group of companies in 2016, joining the Corporate and Risk Controlling core division of EB GROUP Holding GmbH.

“The significance of food retail multiples for supplying the German population nationwide is becoming perfectly obvious during these times, yet it should be added that food retailers also face considerable challenges today. This makes it all the more important for asset managers to have specialised professional know-how in the local amenities segment with a focus on basic supply,” said Susanne Klaussner, Managing Director at DIR Deutsche Investment Retail GmbH. “In Jens-Oliver Hühnel, we have found a food retail property expert with a proven track record. What distinguishes him above all, in addition to his broad-based experience in all areas of the real estate industry, is his in-depth understanding of the requirements that are specific to the retail trade. Another gain just as big for the expansion of our market research activities is to have the analytic competence of Henning Jürgens aboard.”
